Transit: Gate 31 – The Complete Leadership Journey

Dear Creative Visionaries,

Gate 31 is taking us on a full leadership journey this week. Here’s what each line brings and how to work with the energy.

About the Lines

Each gate in Human Design has six lines, based on the ancient I Ching hexagram system. These lines represent different expressions of the same core energy—like six different flavors of leadership in Gate 31’s case. We haven’t explored the line system deeply in our work together yet, but experiencing them through these transits is the perfect introduction. Think of each line as a different lesson or theme that unfolds as the sun moves through the gate.

Line 1 (July 25th): Manifestation Pure creative leadership energy. The only line called “Manifestation” in the entire system. This is when your authentic voice naturally influences others without effort.

Line 2 (July 26th): Arrogance The shadow side—wanting to lead before you’re ready. Independent action without guidance. If you feel pushy or impatient with your team today, breathe and wait for the right moment.

Line 3 (July 27th): Selectivity The key to successful leadership. Not about how many followers you have, but the quality of who follows. Ask: “Who on my team can actually implement my vision?” Focus energy there.

Line 4 (July 28th): Intent Your leadership will be perceived in polar ways—some will love your approach, others will hate it. That’s normal for collective leadership. You can’t please everyone, so don’t try.

Line 5 (July 29th): Self-righteousness
The projection that leaders only care about themselves. People may question your motives today. Stay grounded in service rather than ego. Timing is everything with this energy.

Line 6 (July 30th): Application The transition line. Can you actually deliver on what you promise? Actions must match words. If you don’t have the energy to manifest your vision, be honest about it rather than making empty promises.

My Saturn in 31.1 – A Personal Note

Having Saturn in 31.1 has taught me that real influence comes through patience and proving worth over time. I’ve learned that leadership roles come when I focus on the work itself rather than seeking the spotlight. My artistic vision carries authority precisely because I’m not trying to force it on anyone.

This placement creates natural leaders who don’t feel like leaders. The discipline Saturn brings to line 1’s pure manifestation has been my secret weapon in building both my art practice and my business.

This Week’s Focus

Watch how these energies play out in your creative work and team dynamics. Notice when you’re pushing too hard (line 2), when you’re being selective about your energy (line 3), and when you need to focus on delivery rather than promises (line 6).

True creative leadership serves something bigger than ego. Whether in the studio or leading your business, ask: “How does this serve the people ready to receive what I’m offering?”

That brings me to the Studio:

What is new there?

After a more than 4 month renovation because of black mould, it is usable again and really wonderful.

In creative solidarity,
