March 2026
From Tribal Belonging to Innocent Spirit
A Monthly Transit Guide for Artists & Creative Professionals
by Stefani Peter
The Celestial Weather of March 2026
March opens with a tender goodbye. The Sun lingers in its final hours in Gate 37, the gate that Ra Uru Hu called the gate of Friendship and Family, the gate of affection, of touching and hugging. In Karen Curry Parker’s Quantum Human Design system, this is the gate of Peace. It is where we close the month of February and cross the threshold into a new chapter: a month-long journey that will carry us from the warmth of tribal belonging, through the sharp clarity of logical doubt, into the graceful opening of the emotional wave, through the dark richness of experiential crisis, toward the universal innocence of Spirit, and finally into the organizing brilliance of the mind’s opinions before arriving at the raw willpower of Self-Regulation.
This is not a quiet month. It is a month of significant creative recalibration, made all the more interesting by Mercury’s retrograde journey, which begins the month retracing its steps through Gate 22 (Surrender / Grace), then backs through Gate 63 (Curiosity / Doubt) – my unconscious Earth – , and into Gate 37 (Peace / Family) before stationing direct on March 21st and beginning its forward journey again. For artists and creative professionals, this retrograde is a rare gift—a chance to revisit the emotional patterns and relational dynamics that shape how your work enters the world.
Meanwhile, Venus traces an arc from Gate 36 (Exploration) through Gate 25 (Spirit), Gate 17 (Anticipation), Gate 21 (Self-Regulation), Gate 51 (Initiation), Gate 42 (Conclusion), and into Gate 3 (Innovation) by month’s end. She is, in essence, walking the full spectrum from emotional crisis through innocent love and all the way into the willpower that directs our creative resources. Mars moves through Gates 30, 55, 37, 63, 22, and into 36—igniting the emotional circuit with action and drive.
The slow-moving outer planets hold their positions with quiet authority. Jupiter sits retrograde in Gate 53 (Starting) through the first half of the month, then stations direct around March 6th and begins moving through Gate 39 (Recalibration). Saturn remains steady in Gate 25 (Spirit), shifting from line 4 to line 6 through the month, and then entering Gate 17 around March 19th. Uranus holds in Gate 8 (Fulfillment). Neptune rests in Gate 25 (Spirit), and Pluto continues its long sojourn through Gate 41 (Imagination). Chiron sits quietly in Gate 42 (Conclusion).

Week One: March 1–7
The Family’s Final Blessing & The Arrival of Doubt
Sun in Gate 37.6 → Gate 63 (March 1–7)
The month opens on March 1st with the Sun in Gate 37, line 6—what Ra called ‘Purpose.’ This is the line that yearns for something beyond the mundane family. As Ra taught, the 37.6 is not just looking for the gate of Aloneness (the 40) at the other end of the channel; it is searching far beyond the community, far beyond business and material provision. It is hoping to be awakened through initiation, to come to recognize the holiness of its nature. For the artist, this is the question that arises at the end of every completed series, every fulfilled commission, every successful exhibition: What is all of this work actually for?
Karen Curry Parker names Gate 37 as the gate of Peace in her Quantum Human Design system, and there is something profoundly peaceful about this final line—a willingness to ask the deepest question without demanding an immediate answer. Let this energy guide the first day of March: honor the creative community you have built, acknowledge the resources it has provided, and allow yourself to wonder what lies beyond.
By March 2nd, the Sun crosses into Gate 63—the gate of Doubt, or Curiosity in Karen Curry Parker’s language—and the entire creative atmosphere shifts. Where the 37 was warm, communal, and concerned with resources and belonging, the 63 is cool, mental, and fiercely suspicious. It sits in the Crown/Head center, the place of inspiration and pressure, and as Ra explained in his teachings on the Rave I Ching, this is the gate that asks the best questions. The nature of doubt, he taught, is to be composed. One cannot eliminate doubt until the detail comes through—until the 62nd gate delivers its precision, until the 4th gate formulates its answer, until the 17th gate generates its opinion.
For artists, this transit is both challenging and profoundly useful. The pressure of Gate 63 is the pressure to identify what does not work in your creative patterns—what is suspicious in the way you have been approaching your craft, your business, your relationship with your audience. This is not destructive criticism; it is the healthy foundation of the logical process. As Ra often emphasized, logic is rooted in suspicion and doubt, and without that doubt, nothing ever gets tested, proved, or disproved.
Mercury, still retrograde, backs from Gate 22 into Gate 63 around March 7th, doubling down on this questioning energy. If you find yourself revisiting old doubts about a project, a partnership, or a creative direction—do not resist. This is the retrograde doing its work. Compose yourself, as Ra would say, give the process the benefit of the doubt, and wait for the detail.
Creative Invitation: Spend the first week auditing your creative patterns. What has been working? What feels suspicious? Write the questions down. Do not rush toward answers.
✦ ✦ ✦
Week Two: March 8–14
Grace, Openness & the Darkening of the Light
Sun in Gate 22 → Gate 36 (March 8–14)
Around March 8th, the Sun enters Gate 22—the gate of Grace, or Surrender in Karen Curry Parker’s Quantum Human Design. This is one of the most creatively significant transits of the entire month. Gate 22 sits in the Emotional Solar Plexus and forms the channel of Openness (22–12), which Ra described as the channel through which all mutation spreads into the general population. He called the 22 the gate that knows exactly when to release the mutation—and when to withhold it. If the timing is wrong, there is disgrace. If the timing is right, there is grace beyond measure.
For artists, the distinction is everything. The 22 empowers attentiveness in others—Ra taught that when the 22nd gate is present, it creates the conditions for people to truly listen. But the 22 must wait, must be second, must allow others to go first. This is the creative strategy of modesty, not as false humility, but as a genuine understanding that mutation only lands when the audience is ready to receive it. The moment the 22 tries to force the conversation, it fails.
This transit is made especially potent because Mercury is retrograding through Gate 63 at the same time, which means our mental process is busy identifying suspicious patterns while our emotional body is learning when to open and when to close. Pay attention to your moods during this period. Ra was explicit that the integrity of the 22 lies in living by the nature of its moods—only in honoring your moods do you honor the deep potential for grace.
By March 13th, the Sun moves into Gate 36—the Darkening of the Light, or Exploration in Quantum Human Design. This is the most powerful wave-releaser in the entire emotional system, the gate of crisis born from inexperience. Ra taught that the 36 is the gate of inexperience, and regardless of what the experience is going to be, there is always a point of crisis. You cannot avoid making mistakes when you attempt something for the first time. For the creative professional, this transit asks: What new territory are you willing to enter, knowing full well that the first steps will be uncertain?
Venus, during this week, transits through Gate 25 (Spirit)—the gate of universal love and innocence—moving into Gate 17 (Anticipation / Following) by mid-week. She carries the values of motiveless creative action into the realm of opinions and understanding. Mars moves through Gate 55 (Faith) into Gate 37 (Peace), lighting up the emotional-tribal circuit with fire and drive.
Creative Invitation: This is the week to share work-in-progress, to show the unfinished thing, to let someone witness your creative process before you have polished it into perfection. Grace comes from the vulnerability of right timing, not from the armor of completion.
✦ ✦ ✦
Week Three: March 15–21
Crisis Deepens, Spirit Awakens, Mercury Stations Direct
Sun in Gate 36 → Gate 25 (March 15–21)
The Sun continues through Gate 36 in its early lines during the first days of this week, and the creative atmosphere remains charged with the emotional intensity of the experiential path. Then, around March 19th, the Sun crosses into Gate 25—Spirit, the gate of Innocence—and the entire quality of the month transforms.
Gate 25 is one of the most complex and mystical gates in the Human Design system. As Ra taught, it sits in the G Center, the center of identity and direction, and it points toward Gate 51, the most dynamic willpower in the body. But the 25 does not claim power. Where the 51 says ‘I am the jumper,’ the 25 says ‘There is only the jump.’ This is the gate of selfless, motiveless action—the perfection of action through an uncontrived and spontaneous nature. In Karen Curry Parker’s system, this is simply called Spirit.
Ra spoke extensively about the fact that innocence is only possible existentially—in the now, free of guile. The 25 teaches that universal love is the acceptance that we are helpless in all of this, that all we can do is not interfere but be right there in the present moment. For artists, this is the invitation to create without motive, without strategy, without the desperate need for the work to accomplish something. Just to be in the act of making. Just to be in the studio. Just to let the hand move.
This is also profoundly important because, as Ra noted, the 25 is the gate of Blood—the spirit in the blood, the life force itself. If you do not live out your rhythm, you take love away from the world. If you do not accept what it is to live in your body, you take away the capacity for success for humanity. The creative body knows this truth intuitively: when we force work that does not belong to us, we become depleted. When we surrender to what wants to come through, we are nourished.
Mercury stations direct around March 21st while in Gate 37, bringing the retrograde’s lessons into clarity. Whatever relational and communal themes have been revisited over the past three weeks now begin to resolve. The questions that Gate 63 stirred up can begin moving toward answers. The emotional openings of Gate 22 can begin to find their proper timing. The Vernal Equinox lands during this period as well, though in Human Design we note that the true energetic new year began back in January with Gate 41—the start of the abstract experiential cycle.
Creative Invitation: Create one piece this week with absolutely no agenda. No client brief, no portfolio goal, no social media strategy. Let the work be motiveless. See what spirit moves through your hands when you remove every expectation.
✦ ✦ ✦
Week Four: March 22–28
The Mind Organizes What the Spirit Revealed
Sun in Gate 25 → Gate 17 (March 22–28)
The Sun completes its passage through Gate 25 by March 24th and enters Gate 17—Following, or Anticipation in Karen Curry Parker’s Quantum Human Design system. This is one of the most significant gates for the future of humanity, according to Ra’s original transmissions. He taught that Gate 17 sits at the heart of the logical process, and its nature is the teaching of the future. It is the gate that foreshadows how humanity can be properly organized—not through belief, but through true knowledge and understanding.
Ra connected Gate 17 to the Aquarian Age, explaining that the Piscean teacher of the 11th gate would eventually give way to the Aquarian teacher symbolized by the 17.4—the Personnel Manager, the Organizer. The understanding within Gate 17 must be of service, he taught. Only then will it lead to rule, to the power that understanding can bring. For the artist, this transit is about structuring your creative vision. The inspiration and innocence of Gate 25 must now be translated into a logical pattern that can be shared, tested, and understood by others.
This gate is deeply opinionated, and that is its gift. Every name in your vocabulary, every concept in your artistic practice, carries an opinion. The 17 asks you to examine those opinions, to ensure they are substantiated by detail, and to wait until someone asks before sharing them. As Ra reminded us, this is a collective circuit, and one can only rule when they serve—which means you have to be invited first.
Venus moves through Gate 42 (Conclusion) and into Gate 3 (Innovation) during this period—a beautiful progression from completion to the pressure of new beginnings. Mars transits through Gate 22 (Surrender/Grace), keeping the emotional atmosphere alive with individual intensity. Saturn enters Gate 17 around March 19th–26th, adding weight and gravity to the mental process—opinions formed now carry long-term consequences.
Creative Invitation: Take one creative project that has been floating as an abstract idea and give it structure. Write the proposal. Sketch the blueprint. Outline the series. Let the logical mind serve the spirit’s vision.
✦ ✦ ✦
The Final Days: March 29–31
Willpower Arrives
Sun in Gate 17 → Gate 21 (March 29–31)
The month closes with the Sun entering Gate 21—the gate of Biting Through, or Self-Regulation in Karen Curry Parker’s system. This is Ego/Will center energy at its most direct: the need to be in control of resources, to take decisive action, to bite through whatever obstacles stand between you and what you need to manifest. After a month that began in the warmth of family and moved through doubt, grace, crisis, innocence, and logical organization, March ends with the raw directive power to actually do something about it all.
Venus enters Gate 3 (Innovation), the gate of new beginnings and ordering in the wake of chaos, which pairs beautifully with the willpower of Gate 21. Mars moves into Gate 36 (Exploration), reigniting the emotional experiential cycle with fresh energy. Mercury, now direct and moving forward through Gate 63, begins to transform the month’s questions into workable patterns.
Creative Invitation: Act. Submit the application. Price the work. Send the invoice. The month has prepared you; now let the will carry it forward.
✦ ✦ ✦
The Slow-Moving Planets: Generational Currents
While the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars create the daily and weekly weather of our creative lives, the outer planets form the deeper currents beneath the surface—the tides that shape generations rather than afternoons.
Jupiter in Gates 53/39 — Root Center
Jupiter begins March retrograde in Gate 53.1 (Starting), stations direct around March 6th in Gate 39.6 (Recalibration), and then moves through Gate 53.1 again by mid-month. This is Root center pressure—the pressure to begin new cycles, to start things. Jupiter’s expansion applied to this gate creates an enormous pull toward initiating new creative formats, but the retrograde-to-direct shift asks us to ensure we are not starting simply for the sake of starting. Let the pressure refine itself before responding to it.
Saturn in Gates 25/17 — Spirit to Mind
Saturn moves from Gate 25 (Spirit) into Gate 17 (Anticipation) around March 19th. This is a profound shift—Saturn’s discipline and structure moving from the realm of innocent, universal love into the realm of logical opinions and understanding. Creative professionals may feel this as a growing seriousness about how their work is organized and shared. Saturn asks: Are your creative opinions grounded in enough detail to withstand scrutiny?
Uranus in Gate 8 — Throat Center
Uranus continues its transit through Gate 8 (Fulfillment / Contribution)—the gate of creative individual expression through the Throat. This is the energy of making a creative contribution that stands apart from the crowd. Under Uranus, this expression becomes revolutionary, unpredictable, and deeply authentic.
Neptune in Gate 25 — G Center
Neptune holds steady in Gate 25 (Spirit) all month, adding a dreamlike, dissolving quality to the question of innocence and universal love. For artists, Neptune here can blur the boundaries between personal and transpersonal creative expression—your work may channel something that feels larger than yourself.
Pluto in Gate 41 — Root Center
Pluto remains in Gate 41 (Imagination), continuing its long transformation of the very fuel of our experiential process. This is the gate that Ra identified as the start codon of the entire Human Design wheel—the beginning of all beginnings. Pluto’s presence here is slowly, irreversibly transforming humanity’s relationship to desire, fantasy, and the need for new experience.
Chiron in Gate 42 — Sacral Center
Chiron in Gate 42 (Conclusion) points to wounds around completion—the places where creative projects remain unfinished, where the energy to bring things to full fruition has been interrupted by old patterns of abandonment or premature closure. The healing invitation is to stay with the process all the way to the end.
✦ ✦ ✦
Mercury Retrograde in March: A Deeper Look
Mercury spends the entire first three weeks of March in retrograde motion, beginning the month at Gate 22.6 (Surrender/Grace, line 6—the line of Maturity) and moving backward through Gates 22, 63, and into 37 before stationing direct around March 21st. This particular retrograde is unusually rich for creative professionals because it retraces a path through some of the most emotionally and mentally significant territory in the Human Design wheel.
The journey from Gate 22 backward through Gate 63 is a journey from emotional openness to logical doubt. Mercury is, in effect, asking us to reconsider where we have been emotionally open (or closed) in our creative expression, and then to submit those patterns to the rigorous questioning of the logical mind. Were we graceful, or did we force the timing? Were our creative offerings received, or did we push them out before the audience was ready?
When Mercury retrogrades further into Gate 37 (Peace/Family), the questioning becomes deeply personal and tribal: Who is actually providing for our creative community? Where are the resources? Is the bargain clean? Ra taught that the 37 is always about the sensitivity to the legitimate bargain—the tribal agreement about who provides what. Mercury retrograde here asks us to revisit those agreements with honest eyes.
After stationing direct in Gate 37 on March 21st, Mercury moves forward with purpose: through the family, through doubt, and toward opinion. The second half of the month will feel progressively clearer as Mercury regains its forward motion.

Closing Reflections
March 2026 is a month that asks the creative professional to move through a complete emotional and intellectual cycle. It begins in the tender belonging of the tribe and ends with the willful assertion of individual creative authority. Between those poles lies the full spectrum of human creative experience: the questioning, the opening, the crisis, the innocence, the organizing, and the acting.
The gift of Human Design, as Ra Uru Hu transmitted it, is that none of these transits demand anything of you. They are the weather, not the instructions. Your strategy and authority—your unique way of navigating life as your Type—remain your compass. For Projectors, wait for the invitation to share the insights that March’s transits bring. For Generators and Manifesting Generators, wait for the sacral response before acting on the creative impulses that arise. For Manifestors, inform those around you before initiating. For Reflectors, give yourself the full lunar cycle before making any major creative decisions.
Karen Curry Parker reminds us that each gate carries both a shadow and a gift, and that the evolutionary journey of consciousness is always available to us—not as a destination, but as a daily practice. March’s transits offer a particularly rich landscape for that practice: from the shadow of suspicion to the gift of inquiry, from the shadow of emotional overwhelm to the gift of graceful timing, from the shadow of naivety to the gift of universal acceptance.
May your creative work this month be both honest and beautiful. May you have the courage to question your patterns, the grace to know when to open, and the innocence to let the work come through you without interference.
Until next month,
Stefani
